In this special IFQ event, members will create Christmas stockings starting from a pattern, contributed by Beth Totillo. This, of course, is just the starting point for IFQ members who are always inventive! These stockings can be embellished and decorated to your hearts desire! Once you have received your secret assigned partner, you will send your masterpiece to her with a note about you and your holiday traditions. But shhhh....don't tell who your lucky recipient is! It's a secret! Soon, you will have a charming surprise in YOUR mailbox from an IFQ member.
You will have to post a picture of your stocking by the picture posting deadline in order to be assigned a partner, but we will not open the picture gallery to the public until September 1st. Plenty of time for these stockings to have found their new home!
If you are an IFQ member and logged into the IFQ website, you will be able to sign up below from July 12 - 28th. Once you have signed up, you will receive an email from stocking@friendshipquilters.com which will contain the password for downloading the pattern. By clicking on the DOWNLOAD DOG image on the front page or on this page, you will be brought to the download area where you enter this password. This will bring you to the link to the SECRET STOCKING pattern. Once you download and print out the pattern, you'll be ready to create your masterpiece!
You may sign up as many times as you wish, but just remember that you want to give yourself enough time to do justice to your masterpiece. There are no prizes for the number of stocking you make!
In order to be in the pool that are assigned partners, you must post a picture of your creation (one for each time you signed up). IFQ does everything we can to ensure that our events are fun and pleasant experiences, and so this requirement has no exceptions. If you have trouble with picture posting, we have a tutorial on the site which should help. Or you may contact the event host, Beth Totillo. But be sure not to wait until the last minute because you might forfeit your place in the assignment pool.
This event will also have a scheduled chat where you can ask questions about the pattern or trade ideas for embellishments. This chat is scheduled for two different times on August 3rd (August 4th for NZ & AU).
