You've heard of pen pals? Well, in IFQ we have PIN PALS! After you sign up for this event, you will be matched up with a Pin Pal who may come from anywhere in the world. You will each make a pincushion that you then send to your partner.
Your pincushion may be any size, color or shape. It may be highly embellished with sequins, beads, embroidery, or it may be homespun and earthy. You may make the pincushion in the shape of an animal, a crazy quilt heart, a red hat with purple feathers and beads - anything goes!
Stuff it with quilt batting, cut up old wool blankets or sweaters - as you wish. Betty prefers to use wool for the stuffing because it helps to keep your pins from rusting.
