New Pattern Download available!
The EQ - The Final Step offers a fun pattern to download for all!
A new pattern download is available as part of the Electric Quilt - The Final Step event. Even if you haven't taken part in Step 1 and even if you're not an EQ user, ALL IFQ members are welcome to download and make this fun Wallhanger. Nathalie Cambier took the same EQ file used in Part 1 of this event and wrote instructions up as she would make the quilt. It's a really fun, small project that will show you some different techniques. Sign ups are open now, so don't delay!
New Photo Editing Program Found!
Picture posting just got easier!
IFQ has found a new photo editing program that you can access on the web! If you've had trouble getting your photos the right size, this should help a lot.
You'll find the link on the new Picture Posting page. It's easy to use too! You upload your picture from your computer, edit it and then save it back to your computer.
Let us know if you have any questions!
Sign up to be an IFQ Big Sister!
Help new IFQ members learn all about IFQ!
Be an IFQ Big Sister! Beginning next year, IFQ will start the BIG SISTER program! Big Sisters will be a assigned a new
member when they first register and help them learn the ins and outs of IFQ! This will give new members a person to turn to when they have questions.
Big Sisters will help their "Little Sisters" for 6 months, showing them how to navigate the site, how to post photos, how to use the IFQ Forum and chat room and answering any questions they may have. It's a great way to make a new IFQ friend!
You must have been an IFQ member for a minimum for 6 months and be completely familar with photo posting, forum posting, chat room technique, etc. If you sign up, you will be put on a list and assigned when new members are registered. If you wish to take your name off of the list at any time, it's easy to do this! If your name is on the list and you haven't removed it, we will assume that you are ready to be an IFQ Big Sister.
You can sign up by finding the link on the home page or by CLICKING HERE.

Are you missing out on some IFQ Fun?
Keep your IFQ Information Current
We've recently had some emails sent to IFQ members bounced back to us. Since we are a virtual community, it is very important that we all keep our contact information up to date. After all, we can't stroll down the street and knock on your
door when we really need to contact you! Each member in our community must be contactable.
This becomes even more important when members are participating in an IFQ event. If something changes or a deadline is approaching, you're going to want to be contacted.
Because of this, we've instituted two new things on the site. If you are logged in and your email has been bounced, you'll see a note on the home page of the web site. Please take the time to check your registered information and update it if necessary.
When you go to sign up for an event, if we've had bounced emails from you, you'll be asked to correct your address before proceeding. If you check and still think your address is correct, contact us and we'll try to figure out together what the difficulty was.
Remember, you can always opt out of receiving our infrequent newsletters, but your contact information MUST be current to sign up for an event.
IFQ is looking for Volunteers to test sew new patterns!
You can volunteer now to test sew some patterns
IFQ is looking for test sew-ers! We've got lots of new patterns for many upcoming events and we would love for selected
members to help us check them.
If you are logged into the site, you'll find a box on the home page which will allow you to sign up as a volunteer. You will then be put on the "sewing team" and you'll hear from us soon.
If you participate in test sewing, you are entering an agreement of confidentiality. These patterns are prototypes and not finalized you (you can help finalize them!). We also don't want to spoil the other member's fun but revealing anything before the events! If you do not feel you can keep the secret, then please don't sign up. Just wait for the event!
We will send our test sewers a prototype pattern and then ask them to sew out the project. We would like to know many things. Are the directions clear? Is there any area that didn't make sense? Was the project difficult or simple? Were the measurements correct? Were there any spelling or grammar errors? What did you think of the project as a whole?
We would also like you to take a picture of the finished project and send it to us. We may want to use it on the event page.
We can't wait to show you what we've been working on!!
