Hi all, Cell Sal here. I gotta tell you, IFQ members sure can party! You all are a bunch of party animals! I want to party with you all again!
Madame BH and I arrived a bit late (the flight from Vegas was a bit delayed, you see) and it was hoppin' when we got there. There was music blasting (and let me tell you, that Suzy is quite some dancer!) and the food was faaaabuuulous!
But let's get right down to it. That Sarah can make a mean G&T. Whoa, girls. She didn't skimp on the G! You're my kind of gal, Sarah. Suzanne turned out some daquaris that weren't bad - are you going to give me that recipe Suzanne?
Joany brought some fried turtles or something and I think there were some boiled peanuts (now I've had boiled potatoes before but peanuts??). I didn't get to the food table too much, I must say.
We had lots of prize winners in the party games. Let's see now...Cindy, Sarah and Suzanne tied in one game and all received a prize. Then there was Julie, Joany and Jo - hmmm, guess it helped to have a name starting with "J". Hey, what happened to you James? No prizes for you! And there were a lot of other prizes...I just can't remember.
We also had bilingual games (well, we had been imbibing - so I thought I heard a few languages!). (We know Madame BlindHem was hearing voices...but that's normal for her.) The french chapter came out in force and made off with PLENTY of prizes. We even had a spanish entry. Of course, at the time, she thought she was replying in french. Well, it was that sort of a party.
One of the prizes was a coveted psychic (no, not psychotic!) reading from our own Madame BlindHem. We picked her up off the floor (she spent a lot of time there...but she always does) and she looked around for her crystal ball. When she couldn't find it (she goes through a lot of crystal balls, you know) we asked her subject (Dianne) to put her palm to the monitor so Madame BlindHem could read her palm. We glad to report that the future looks bright (as in bright fabric!).
Along the way, we also got to know one another (the beverages helped loosen us). And I gotta tell ya, this is a swell bunch! If you didn't make this party, ya gotta make the next one.
Oh, by the by, this group is also pretty flashy in their dress. I still think that Suzy should win a prize for best dressed. Let's see, she was wearing a leopard print spandex cat suit with kitten heel mules. Now, come on, is that classy or what? Kudos to Suzy!
Gena wore a swim suit - very nice. And we had angel wings and a red costume with horns. And Mags, another fine dressed quilter, wore leopard print halter top with sequins. She and Suzy made quite a pair!
Ya know, there's a lot to be said for virtual parties. We had the fun, but none of the calories and certainly, no hang overs! Whadda ya say folks, how about another party? I know when Madame BH wakes up, she'll be ready to party!
I know that James & Suzy would like to thank everyone who came. They were bowled over by the wonderful food, beverages, costumes and sparkling conversations. I think they are still cleaning up the Party Hall right now!
So until next time, bottoms up! |
