Trish Knight, chapter leader of the V-Bobbin Belles Friendship Quilters chapter has gained permission from Quilter's Cache™ for us to use their lovely "Depression Block" as the basis of this block exchange.

Each participant will make at least one block, following the sewing directions and color recommendations from Quilter's Cache™. Then, the blocks will be mailed to Trish in Australia. Once all of the blocks arrive one lucky winner's name will be drawn. This person will win enough blocks to make a quilt top. If there are enough blocks submitted, more awards will be made. For instance, if 25 blocks are mailed in, 12 blocks will go to the first name drawn, 9 blocks to the second name drawn, and 4 blocks to the third name drawn. Sound like fun?

Please read these rules carefully before signing up for this event. The rules and deadlines are firm, and your fellow participants will be counting on you to follow through.

• Sign Ups open February 2, 2006. Event is open to registered IFQ members only. Trish's mailing address will be sent privately to each entrant.

• Make at least one "Depression Block" following the color recommendations and sewing instructions at Quilter's Cache™. If you would like to make more than one block your name will be entered in the drawing more than once (once for each block). Use only good quality, 100% cotton quilt fabric in your blocks (you know, the kind YOU would like to receive!). Wash, dry and press the fabrics before cutting. Your blocks MUST measure exactly 12.5 inches from raw edge to raw edge (12-inch square when finished).

• Place your finished block in a plastic bag (clip/zipper lock style). Place each block in its own bag! Place a note inside each bag with your name and Trish's name and address. Choose a lovely fat quarter to include with your mailing. This will be for Trish, and serves to offset her mailing expenses. Place all of this in a mailing envelope that can withstand overseas shipping (it might get wet!).

• Post your envelope to Trish no later than February 28, 2006. Sooner is better than later! All blocks MUST reach Trish no later than March 25, so check with your local postal office to see the best way to achieve this. Any blocks arriving after this deadline will not be eligible for the drawing, nor will you receive them back.

• Rush to the Lucky Block Forum and post a message stating when you mailed your envelope so that Trish knows to keep an eye out for it.

• The lucky winner/s will be announced in the Lucky Block Forum no later than March 30, 2006.
