IFQ
Heart with buttonhole

Tina Girard, of UK-Thread of Time FQ, is hosting this friendly exchange.

Each participant in the IFQ Heart Strings Exchange will make 6 stuffed hearts and will exchange them with other participants. The finished hearts may be used in any way, but we visualize them strung together in a garland of hearts. Wouldn't they be pretty hung in a window to remind you of your world-wide IFQ friends?

The hearts may be made any way you like, as long as some kind of sewing is involved. They may be fat or skinny, silly or sober, as you wish. The height of the heart must be 4-inches but, other than that, you may be as creative as you wish. Try some patchwork, embroidery, buttons, beads, couching, fringe, appliqué, or any other technique you love. If you think your heart is beautiful your partner is sure to love it!

  • Sign Ups open December 19, 2006. You must be a registered IFQ member and logged in to sign up. You may sign up more than once; each time you sign up you are agreeing to make six hearts.

Make sure your email and spam filters allow messages from heart@friendshipquilters.com

  • The theme is Heart Strings. You will make six stuffed hearts that include some kind of sewing. Each heart must be 4-inches high. You may use any creative technique you like to make your hearts. Try to do something that will tell your partner a little bit about yourself.

  • Sign Ups Close January 7, 2007.

  • Picture Posting Deadline is January 18, 2007. You must post pictures of your completed Hearts in the Heart Strings Gallery no Stitched heartlater than today to be eligible for partner assignment. This deadline is firm. If you need help posting pictures drop Tina an email. But, do not wait until the last day to ask for help because the host may not be available at that late date and you will not be able to continue with the exchange unless your pictures are posted before the deadline.

  • Mailing deadline is January 25, 2007. Your hearts must be in the mail to your partners no later than the end of the day. After your hearts have been mailed, be sure to post a message in the Heart Strings forum so your partners will know to keep an eye out for their parcels.

You must be an IFQ member and logged in to sign up for this event. You will receive a confirmation email after signing up. If you do not receive this email within one day, please contact us right away.

Sign Ups Open December 19
