Participants will be partnered with an IFQ friend. Each partner will purchase (or pluck from their stash) one fat quarter which they will mail to the other, along with any information that will help your partner create a cushion to return. That could include color preferences, style choices, etc. Do you prefer florals, geometrics, funky, country, etc? Or, you can just let your partner surprise you! How about including a photo of the room where you will be using your cushion?
Once each person receives their partner's fat quarter the fun begins! Create a cushion cover to fit an 18" square pillow form using at least some of the fat quarter and incorporating the information you've received from your partner. You may use all of the FQ, or just a little as long as some of it appears in the finished cushion cover. Get creative here. Use buttons, zippers, ties, etc. to close the cushion cover. Embellish it as you like. Try some piping, a flange, or boxed sides. Build a cushion cover that your partner will be thrilled to receive by interpreting the preferences they gave you!
When the cushion cover is complete, take a picture of it and post it in the Creative Cushion Gallery. Then mail it back to your partner. To save bulk and postage, just the Cushion Cover is mailed back. The owner will provide the stuffing or pillow form once the cover reaches home.
