I have been lucky enough to see this quilt made up and it is a superb design. Your colour schemes can be bright or pastel, whatever is your (or the baby's parents' taste). Simple and very effective as all the best patterns. Here's to "wetting the baby's head" and giving this very practical gift :drinkPour:

The designer, Nathalie is one of the hosts and James has actually made up the quilt, so it is truly an IFQ creation. Thank you so much for all you do for IFQ, both of you :grHug:

This looks like a nice pattern. I am needing a baby quilt for our pastor's daughter. This will be perfect. This will be nice in pastels or in brights.

Dear All,
I bought .6 metre of very pale blue fabric patterned with coloured stars. The star colours will be used to make the stars for the centre - scrappy stars from my stash. It is a beautiful quilt and I am really looking forward to stitching it.

I have my stars started and have a picture of my progress so far. Let me know when you have the gallery open and I will post my picture. Emily just woke up so I am off to get her now. More sewing later next nap. :D

thanks Nathalie i will post my picture soon. I have to take Emily to the Dr this morning. So far love this pattern. It is easy as long as you pay attention to the direction of the pieces when putting the block together. I only had to take off one square so far.

What batting/wadding do you use on your baby quilts? There is some talk of this on the Sew and Share forum. Why not join in!
I haven't had much time to sew since my daughter had the twins, but baby quilts are sure on my to-do list!

I am so unclever choosing colours. I completed my quilt top with what I first thought was a good selection of fabrics - but plan to remake the centre - the stars.
There are a number of babies expected - my daughter, and friends - so I have no excuse not to get on with this project.

Hi to all, I have a question about the border measurements, the blocks are all done and they all measure 9 inches finished, that makes my side 45 1/2 inches. my little triangles after I cut them were 3 1/2 inches like the pattern called for. What do you think I did wrong?? I can add on to the strips I cut for the border and the quilt will be saved.
Had fun making the blocks, they have cupcake fabric , and chocolate chip fabric and than some plainer fabric.

border measurements

Postby Betty Bl » Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:26 am

Hi again, I think it is a typo on the border sides, the width is perfect but the length is short on the Ist and 2nd border.Tarnyia I did make the 15 blocks I think she was counting the colored blocks.I loved the layout of the quilt with the 3 cream blocks, I would have never thought of that and I did my three out of the background fabric.

Hi Nat and Kaylene, I think I had a senior moment yesterday. I was thinking that next weekend was the picture posting deadline. It is only the sign-up deadline. Can I sign up again? I really want to make this quilt as I have two friends having babies and really need to do one for each. This will be perfect and I have until I go on my cruise to get one done. That gives me a month and I should be able to do one by then. what you say?
