Want to get to know your fellow IFQ chapter members better? In this event, IFQ chapter members work together to create a project (or projects) using fat quarters. Members design together, sew test samples, compare notes and possibly revising the project. After writing up rudmentary instructions, the project (or projects) is submitted to IFQ. We will post pictures and any description of your project on the website. At this point. ALL IFQ members can vote on their favorite project. The chapter that gets the most votes, wins the competition.. And every member of that winning chapter will receive a prize individually!

Many of us at IFQ have designed projects together (over great distances) and know how much fun that can be. IFQ will provide private Chapter chat rooms for any scheduled chapter chat meeting. You can toss ideas around in these meetings and then send emails back and forth. Or you can send Electric Quilt or image files. You can discuss it in the chapter forum.

Once the ideas have been culled down comes the test sewing phase. This is fun because you definitely learn new things in this phase. At this point, the design may change a bit!

Once the chapter has the concept fully formed, then you write simple instructions. IFQ has a chapter area where chapter leaders can upload files and chapter members may download files that are specific for their chapter only. So you can have an instruction file posted here for other members of your chapter to comment on.

After the voting has occured, IFQ will run the winning submission as an IFQ event. We will also run the others at later dates. AND, the members of the winning chapter will all receive a special prize!

Each IFQ Chapter may submit one or more original Fat Quarter projects. No copyrighted patterns used, please!

These projects must use only Fat Quarters.

The ABSOLUTE submission deadline is June 1st. Submissions include a brief description, up to 5 pictures, and a set of instructions.

Voting will open on June 10th and close on June 20th.

The winning IFQ chapter will be announced on June 25th.
