Jane Hilary Parker, IFQ's own "Dolly Lady" has a fabulous gift to share with us. She's developed a charming Fairy cloth doll pattern that is presented here for your pleasure. Make a fairy to top your Christmas tree or to grace your sewing room. She would be cherished by a little girl, too.
Jane says "This pattern came to mind when I offered to teach a two hour doll class at our local quilt club in Torbay, Devon, England. It is a sligh
t cheat on two hours as I set some homework prior to the club evening. However, the fairy doll is simple to make and can be adapted to suit all styles and tastes of Christmas Trees. Indeed, she may be a Flower Fairy or even an Angel. I have made some with and some without wings; the choice is entirely yours".
Here are pictures of some friends making Christmas Fairies with Jane. Click on the images to see a larger view. Since we are spread around the globe, and can't all get together to make our fairies, Jane has provided her wonderful pattern here. Just close your
eyes and imagine that you are sitting at the table with Jane and her friends - maybe a little fairy dust would help?
This pattern download is available to logged-in IFQ members only. If you are not logged in go here first.
The pattern file requires Acrobat Reader which comes pre-installed on most computers. If you do not have it on your system, it is available as a free download from Adobe. As of this writing the latest version is 7, and the newest version always works best! The Fairy pattern is a PDF file, and should open when you click on the link. If your browser has problems with PDF files try right-clicking and choosing "save target as" (may use different, but similar words depending on browser). This will permit you to save the file to your hard drive and then you can open it from there.

There is a special Forum Topic set up just to discuss this project. Share your thoughts and ask/answer questions there.
When you have finished your Fairy, please post a picture of her here. It is a well know fact that when fairies congregate, their magic is magnified!
