Velia Antila, of V-Quilting Bees FQ, has provided the pattern for this new exchange event. Velia loves to work in miniature, and these dolls reflect her love of the tiny! While the dolls may be tiny, they symbolize something grand.

Healing Dolls, also known as Angel Companions, are used to take all your troubles and worries away. Children often carry them and talk to them about their problems, stresses, fears, and anxieties. You basically hand over your worries to the little doll!

In this new exchange, each participant will make a Healing Doll to send to an IFQ friend. Then, tell all your cares and woes to your new Healing Doll (she'll be happy to take them over for you). Could there be a better gift than something that will take your cares away?

When you sign up for the Healing Doll Exchange, you will be sent a message with a password. You must set your email filters to accept email from HealingDoll@friendshipquilters.com! Use the password provided in the message to access the Healing Doll pattern by clicking on the Download Dog on the IFQ home page.

healing dollsThen, you will make a doll using one of the four designs in the pattern (thanks, Velia!). Go wild with the embellishment, and infuse the doll with healing vibes for the IFQ friend who will receive her!

When your doll is finished, take a picture of her and post it in the Healing Doll Gallery. After the picture posting deadline, the name of your recipient will be revealed. Mail the doll off to her, and keep your eye on the postman - he'll be bringing a Healing Doll for you, too! Just think how good it will feel to let your Healing Doll take over your worries!

Velia Antila and Betty Blackwell will be hosting this event. You can write them if you need some help. There is also a forum set up for this event.
Just look for the Healing Doll topic.

  • Sign Ups Open: Tuesday, May 16. You must be a registered IFQ member and logged in to sign up. If you would like to make and receive more than one Healing Doll you must sign up more than once (one sign up per doll). For this event, each doll must be unique.

  • Sign Ups Close: Tuesday, June 6.

  • Picture Posting Deadline: Tuesday, June 20. This is a firm deadline; if you miss this deadline you cannot get an exchange partner. Due to the way the assignment system works, there can be no exceptions to this deadline.

  • Mailing Deadline: Tuesday, June 27. This is the very last day to get your Healing Doll into the mail. Then keep an eye on the Healing Doll Forum to see when your partner receives her doll.

Sign Ups open Tuesday, May 16
