Jane Parker is hosting this new IFQ exchange in which participants will make cloth dolls that represent themselves and exchange them with an IFQ friend from somewhere around the world. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Jane is a cloth doll artist and designer, and it is IFQ's great fortune to have her pattern and expertise for this event. See more of her work here.
Jane designed a doll pattern that she shared with IFQ last autumn, and this wonderful pattern will be the foundation of this new event. She will be available to help you with your doll, too! Post questions in the Friendship Doll Forum, or write to Jane.
Once you sign up to participate you will be an email that contains a link and a password that will allow you to download the doll pattern. Use it to build a doll that reflects "something about you" and then post a picture of it in the Friendship Doll Gallery. Once you have done that you will be matched up with another participant to whom you will send your doll. Include a note about you, tell a bit about where you live, what you enjoy, etc. When your partner receives the doll she will have a "little you" in her life! Then, meet each other in the Chat Room to get to know one another better.
Sign Ups open March 8, 2006. You must be a registered IFQ member and logged in to sign up.
Sign Ups close March 28, 2006.
Chats will be scheduled for discussing this project. Check the IFQ Calendar for dates and times.
Picture Posting Deadline is April 11, 2006. You must post a picture of your doll in the Friendship Doll Gallery before you will be assigned a partner. Posting a picture is a requirement for participating in this event. If you need help with this, contact Jane at least three days BEFORE this deadline.
Mailing Deadline is April 20, 2006. Your doll must be posted to the mail no later than this date. Then, keep an eye on the Friendship Doll Forum to learn when your partner receives the doll!
