What could be more festive for the holidays than a lovely handmade mat to place under a single candle. This not only adds a beautiful touch but it also offers protection for the table top! Your partner will think of you when she uses it under her holiday candle!
Betty Blackwell hosts this fun exchange! There are very few rules in this exchange so your imagination can take you where you will! Each person creates a mat for a larger candle, such as a 6 inch (in diameter) column candle or you could make a pair of smaller mats to place under votive candles! These mats must be made out of fabric and they are a perfect canvas for all sorts of embellishments!
When you sign up for this event, you are committing to make a Christmas Candle Carpet for one large candle or a pair of smaller mats for smaller candles. This can be in any shape, any color and with any embellishments. It must be made out of fabric, but that's about the only rule!
After you finish your creation, you must post a picture in the IFQ Christmas Candle Carpet picture gallery. This needs to be done before the picture posting deadline of July 31st. Only participants who have posted a picture BY THE DEADLINE will be included in the swap. If you have trouble with the picture posting, you may ask the host, Betty, for help. But don't wait until the last minute because you'll run the risk of missing out on this fun exchange!
After the picture posting deadline, you'll be informed when the link to your partner's mailing information is posted. You'll have a week to mail out your beautiful IFQ Christmas Candle Carpets. Then comes the fun part of finding those special IFQ packages in YOUR mail box!

July 14th - IFQ Christmas Candle Carpet Chat. Come share your ideas! There will be two times for this chat (check the IFQ calendar). And there will be a special surprise pattern for chat attenders!
July 21st - Sign ups close. Be sure not to miss this great event!
July 31st - Picture Posting Deadline. Only members who have posted photos by this date will be included in the swap.
August 7th - Mailing Deadline. This is the LAST day to mail your creation!
