DECS WORKSHEETS

Here are the DECS projects in their various stages. Participants decided on a table cloth they wanted to do and started the project in EQ 5. The files then were sent around in a round robin fashion so all participants could add a little something to each file. See the results!

Madame Blind Hem

Madame BlindHem has taken a different approach to the Octagonal layout - using a relatively simple block, she has shown how you can create a very complex looking design by dropping a square block into a diamond-shaped layout. Very creative design done in Madame's signuature purple!

Celluloid Sally

This is Sally's contribution for Round 4 for Madame's project. The coloring is perfect - very "Madame"!

Jane Parker
UK Threads of Time

This round is Jane's contribution to Jennie Lewis' octagonal project. Jane designed two fantastic floral motifs, one for the "flaps" and one as a filler for the "V" created by the space between the flaps.

Suzanne Logue
V-Piecemakers

Jennie's "Looking Through Fire" design so realistically give impression of looking at flames that I could just imagine looking in window at a fireplace with a huge crackling fire. I added "panes" and a "frame" as an attempt to give the impression of outside looking in.

Jane Parker
UK Threads of Time

Jane has added a diamond-block border (maybe with the Diamond Lounge in mind?) to Sally's topper.

Madame Blind Hem

Madame has added coloring to Sarah's table topper.

Celluloid Sally

Sally added a border and some additional applique motifs to Jane's project. The smaller flowers do a wonderful job of accentuating the center block!

Jennie Lewis
V-Ladybugs

Jennie contributed this recoloring for Suzanne's Fiesta project for Round 3. This is FANTASTIC! The design is looking more and more like a stained glass window. Jennie has also suggested an intriguing alternative setting for the blocks in the design - pictures will be forthcoming!

Sarah Gamble
V - Piecemakers

This is Sarah's addition for Round 3 of Madame BlindHem's project. Sarah has done a "stellar" job!

Jennie Lewis
V-Ladybugs

This is Jennie's other version for Madame's project. Both designs appear very much in keeping with Madame's stellar theme!

Jennie Lewis
V-Ladybugs

This is one of Jennie's contributions for Round 2 to Madame BlindHem's design.

Suzanne L
V - Piecemakers

This is my contribution to Sally's buffet topper. In keeping with her 50's theme, I have added bubbles and cocktail cherries.

Sarah Gamble
V - Piecemakers

This is Sarah Gamble's contribution for Round 2 of Jane Parker's design. The scallops and butteflies are gorgeous!

Madame BlindHem
IFQ

**Hello everyone. I have to say I was TERRIFIED when I learned I had gotten Suzanne's project in this round. It was such a beautiful quilt, what could I do? Well, after much angst and a few G&Ts, it came to me! I would try to take the SAME design and change some colors and see what would happen. I love to see the same pattern in different colors! **My main focus was to bring out the star pattern more, since you all know I have a SPECIAL affinity with the stars. I tried to vary the contrast since I wasn't seeing certain patterns because every color was so wonderful and vibrant. I tried to add a bit more unity to get the effect I wanted. I'm still not happy with the outermost designs. But I can do no more! **So there you have it - a different version of Suzanne's wonderful, wonderful quilt. It is such a lovely design! Now, all that hard work has made me thirsty. I think I'll toddle off to the ol' Diamond Lounge. Please join me if you can!

Suzanne L
V-Piecemakers FQ

Suzanne re-designed the center star blocks, and colored in the layout. For the second round, she is hoping for a completely different color scheme, or for someone to add an unusual border (maybe points?) to the layout.

Sarah Gamble
V - Piecemakers

Sarah also made a change to her design after Thursday's chat - she has sent in an uncolored version of her layout for everyone to contemplate.

Madame Blind Hem

Madame BH enjoyed the chat on Thursday so much that she went back and made some revisions to her design before it goes on to the next round.

Sarah Gamble
V- Piecemakers

Sarah is working on a topper for an octagonal table. She wants "flaps" to hang down over each side of the table to conceal whatever is lurking under the table (sounds like her cats will have a new launching spot!)

Celluloid Sally
IFQ

Sally is designing a LARGE runner for the buffet at the lounge. She has a 50's theme in mind, and has designed some really great appliques to start off with, but has run into a couple of design & construction issues which she has asked us to help her with when we chat on Thursday.

Madame Blind Hem
IFQ

Madame BlindHem is thinking of a celestial theme, bringing in the stars and the heavens. She's created this layout in Easy Draw (it consists of 4 big blocks) so all additional rounds will be created by working in PatchDraw or EasyDraw. She had created a complete design, but then lost it (it's probably in the same place as that ever-wandering crystal ball!). She knows that her IFQ friends will help her!
